Dry Eye Syndrome

Dry Eye Syndrome causes eye discomfort, tearing, photophobia (light sensitivity) and red eyes. There are many causes, including blepharitis (inflammation of eyelids), Acne Rosacea, Sjogren’s Syndrome, eyelid malpositions and hyperthyroidism.

But the most common cause is deficient formation of tears – which can be the salt water component, the mucin component, or the outer lipid component.

The experts at Vitamin Science have studied the mechanisms of Dry Eye Syndrome, and Dr. Paul Krawitz was awarded United States Patent 7,638,142 for “Therapeutic Composition for the Treatment of Dry Eye Syndrome,” in December 2009 for his Dry Eye Relief® Formula.
